Travel Teams
The Dayton Icehounds will be holding evaluations for Travel teams for the 2023-2024 season. We expect to roster at least one A level team at the 10U, 12U, 14U, and High School levels, and possibly B level teams at 10U and 12U. The exact number of teams and team level of play will be determined by the players available.
Players interested in 8U BTHL and 8U, 10U/12U House League, or Learn to Play do not attend Evaluations.
We will announce our coaches as soon as possible.

Extra Costs
We are an affiliate of USA Hockey, which means a valid USA Hockey registration must be maintained. Cost varies based on the player's age.
Additional Information
We expect our Travel teams to practice twice a week. One of these practices will be an ADM style practice, led by Head Coaches and our Director of Coaching.
Email Updates
Updates about the season will mostly come through email. Gmail tends to route our messages to your Promotions folder. Please be sure to check that folder regularly. It may also help to add info@icehoundshockey.com and notifications@icehoundshockey.com to your Contacts or White list.
Accepting an Offer
Once made an offer for a team, an initial $300 payment will be due. You can choose to pay the remainder of the season in full, or sign up to have the remaining amount split into 6 equal payments which will be automatically charged to the same credit card used for the deposit on the 15th of each month June - November.
If your credit card expires or changes, you will need to log into your account at this site and update the credit card information. Failure to do so may result in late payment fees and could impact your player's status with the team.
Uniforms
We will schedule uniform sizing days to allow players to determine the correct size and to confirm jersey numbers. Travel Teams have matching jerseys, pants shell, and socks. If your uniform from the previous season still fits and looks good, you can continue to wear it. If you need new, that option will be available when accepting the team offer.
All Travel players are required to wear a black helmet and gloves.
Schedule / Expectations
Travel teams practice twice a week, typically for 90 minutes with the ice shared with another team. We also hold a weekly off-ice training session, run by certified trainers at the Performance Enhancement Center (PEC) inside South Metro Sports. Attendance at off-ice training and practice is expected.
10U, 12U, and 14U Travel participate in the Buckeye Travel Hockey League, and will play 12-16 home games per team, and at least as many away and tournament games.
Our HS team participates in the Cincinnati High School League, and will play around 20 home games, and at least as many away and tournament games.
Tournaments for all Travel Teams often start on Friday and may require kids to miss a day or two of school, depending on tournament location and first/last game time.
