8U BTHL
Our 8U BTHL (Buckeye Travel Hockey League) program is designed for those players who have played at least a year of our 8U House program or equivalent. It may also be appropriate for players who have completed Learn to Play, with the recommendation of the Learn to Play coach. While all of our 8U players will practice and have in-house scrimmages together, this program will offer additional practices and home and away jamborees as part of the Buckeye Travel Hockey League 8U program.
Ages
Players who will still be 8 or younger as of December 31 of the current year, and have completed a year of 8U or have been recommended by their LTP coach to play at this level.
When
October through February. Practices and scrimmages Tuesday and either Friday or Sunday late afternoon. (Friday or Sunday TBD) Home and away jamborees on the weekends.
Where
Practices, scrimmages, and home jamborees are at South Metro Sports. Away jamborees could be in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, or West Virginia.
Tryouts / Evaluations
Players will be evaluated at the first practices and teams formed at that time.
Jerseys
Jerseys and socks ARE INCLUDED in the listed prices.
Extra Costs
We are an affiliate of USA Hockey, which means a valid current season USA Hockey registration is also required. Cost varies based on the player's age.
2024-2025 Regular Season
USA Hockey Requirement: Each Player must have a valid 2024-2025 USA Hockey Registration to register for this program.
Ages: Birth Years 2016 and younger
Dates: October 2024 through February 2025.
Cost: $700
Rental Equipment Cost: $75 deposit with $50 refunded when equipment is returned cleaned and in good condition.
