Dayton Icehounds Youth Hockey
Our 8U BTHL (Buckeye Travel Hockey League) program is designed for those players who have played at least a year of our 8U House program or equivalent. It may also be appropriate for players who have completed Learn to Play, with the recommendation of the Learn to Play coach. While all of our 8U players will practice and have in-house scrimmages together, this program will offer additional practices and home and away jamborees as part of the Buckeye Travel Hockey League 8U program.
Our House League is the perfect next step for players coming out of Learn to Play or even an 8U Travel team who are not ready to make the commitment to Travel Hockey. This is a lower-cost, lower-commitment option for those players.
The House League will start in late October, and will be on the ice 2 times a week, all at South Metro Sports. Every 4th ice time will be an In-House game/scrimmage.
There are no tryouts for House League - everyone who registers will be able to participate.
The Dayton Icehounds are excited to host USA Hockey Try Hockey for Free events, which gives kids a chance to get on the ice with coaches and give hockey a try… FOR FREE!
Our next Try Hockey for Free opportunity will be September 15 - Registration will start closer to the date.
Our Learn to Play hockey program gives kids the fundamentals of hockey with our Learn to Play Hockey lessons, available for boys and girls ages 4 – mid-teens. Designed to develop a foundation of hockey skating skills and basic stick handling skills in a fun and exciting atmosphere.
