The Icehounds hockey organization is built on the dedication and passion of volunteers. To continue providing a strong, successful program for our players and families, we are currently seeking committed individuals to join our Board of Directors.
Board members play a vital role in guiding the future of our organization—supporting operations, planning events, ensuring financial health, and creating a positive environment for young athletes to grow.

Elected board members are expected to maintain and serve their position for two years. This ensures continuity and allows for a more stable organizational structure, while also allowing for new leadership and perspectives over time.
BOARD DESCRIPTIONS
The President shall be the chief executive officer of the corporation and in the recess of the Board of Directors shall have the general control and management of its business and affairs, subject, however, to the right of the Board of Directors to delegate any specific power except such as may be by statute exclusively conferred upon the President, to any other officer or officers of the corporation.
VICE PRESIDENT: Perform all duties and exercise all powers of President when the President is absent or otherwise unable to act; Oversee and lead the Grievance Committee; Perform all other duties as designated by the President.
In case the office of President shall become vacant by death, resignation, or otherwise, or in the case of the absence of the President, or his/her disability to discharge the duties of the office, such duties shall, for the time being, fall upon the Vice-President who shall do and perform such other acts as the Board of Directors may, from time to time, authorize.
TREASURER: The Treasurer shall have custody and keep account of all money, funds and property of the corporation unless otherwise determined by the Board of Directors, and shall render such accounts and present such statements to the Directors and President as may be required. The Treasurer shall deposit all funds of the corporation that may come into their hands in such bank or banks as the Board of Directors may designate. The Treasurer shall keep the bank account(s) in the name of the corporation, and shall exhibit all books and accounts, at all reasonable times, to any Trustee of the corporation upon application at the office of the corporation during business hours.
The Treasurer shall pay out money as business may require upon the order of the properly constituted officer or officers of the corporation, provided, however, that the Board of Directors shall have the power by resolution to delegate any of the duties of the Treasurer to other officers, and to provide by what officers, if any, all bills, notes, checks, vouchers, orders or other instruments shall be countersigned. In addition, such other duties as may be delegated by the Board of Directors will be performed.
SECRETARY: The Secretary of the corporation shall keep the minutes of all meetings of the members and Board of Directors in books provided for that purpose; shall attend to the giving of all notices of the corporation; shall have charge of such books and papers as the Board of Directors may direct; all of which, shall, at all reasonable times, be open to the examination of any Trustee upon request of the Secretary, and in addition such other duties as may be delegated by the Board of Directors.
REGISTRAR: The Registrar is in charge of overseeing the club’s registration process. This can include maintaining the database of athletes, communicating registration information and promoting registration activities. He or she is also responsible for creating, distributing and recording all registration forms.

DIRECTOR OF HOCKEY OPERATIONS: The Director of Hockey Operations oversees all aspects of the Icehounds Hockey Club core operations, including player development, coaching, and program management, with responsibilities ranging from development, skill training design, and assistance with managing budgets and ensuring compliance. Evaluate the overall hockey development program to ensure alignment with the organization’s mission and goals. Work closely with the Director of Coaching and the Training and Development Coordinator to ensure contribution to ongoing training and resources to promote consistent skill development and positive team culture.
DIRECTOR OF STRATEGY & DEVELOPMENT: The Director of Strategy & Development plays a significant role in advancing the mission, vision, and strategic objectives of the youth hockey league. This position requires an individual with a deep understanding of how to use the community to advance the organization's goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, strategic thinking capabilities, and a passion for youth development through sports. Key Responsibilities: annual fundraiser, volunteer management and spirit wear.
DIRECTOR OF COACHING: The Director of Coaching runs the day to day coaching operations of the Icehounds Hockey program. The position assists the Icehounds Executive Board with strategic planning, coach management/evaluation and team formation. The position is also responsible for creating and implementing the coach development and coach education aspects of the organization and oversees the player development programs.
The DOC will lead efforts to achieve the growth and development of the players of all ages, and strive to provide coaches with the necessary tools to tactically develop and mentor young athletes.
SKILL & DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR: The Skills & Development Coordinator facilitates organizational skill development sessions that will be hosted by the Icehounds Youth Hockey Club. The position assists the Director of Coaching (DOC) with strategic skill sessions that further improves the quality and brand of the Icehounds.
TRAVEL COMMISSIONER: As commissioner, his/her responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the travel teams and league, including: keeping travel coaches up to date with any rules and regulations from the league or leagues, ensuring player and ice equipment is maintained and monitored, regular communication with IH executive board with any issues, comments, concerns, attending board meetings regularly.
The Travel Commissioner is responsible for the oversight and general management of the Icehounds Youth Hockey Travel Programs while promoting Icehounds Youth Hockey Core Values of Gratitude, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork. He/She shall be responsible for representing the interests of Icehounds Hockey at all USAH/MIDAM meetings. He/She shall be responsible for reporting all news related to USAH/MIDAM Hockey to the Board of Directors in an effective manner. He/She shall be responsible for enforcing MIDAM Policies and procedures as it relates to the organization.
HOUSE COMMISSIONER: As commissioner, his/her responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the house league, including: keeping house coaches up to date with any rules and regulations, scrimmage day team scheduling, parent communications and meetings, ensuring player and ice equipment is maintained and monitored, regular communication with IH executive board with any issues, comments, concerns, attending board meetings regularly.
MARKETING/SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR:Social media coordinators help boost the social media presence of an organization. They create and execute digital marketing strategies to inform, advertise, and attract public interest. They handle the organization's social media accounts, where they monitor comments and interact with the social media community.
LTP (Learn to Play) COORDINATOR: Responsible for creating, establishing and implementing process and procedures for the documentation of weekly activities that include planning materials, participant attendance, as well as other duties assigned.
- He/or she shall be responsible for every facet of the LTP program. This would include the recruitment of LTP instructors. Also the LTP coordinator shall be available to assist with on ice instruction as needed.
- He/or she will be asked to work in conjunction with the association’s public relations personnel, ice scheduler, equipment manager and others as needed.
- He/or she will be asked to come up with a skating curriculum for the entire session that would include a recommendation for the skater’s readiness and ability for the next level of skating.
- He/or she shall have an introduction clinic for all parents as to what to expect during the LTP program and proper fitting of equipment.

- Verify schedule against Icehounds Team Pages for accuracy
- Verify schedule with Arbiter for officials
- Notify rink of weekend game schedule (which team and opponents so locker room assignments can be made)
- When the practice schedule is ready before the season, format it so that it can be imported into Crossbar.
- Organize and maintain an accurate inventory of all association equipment (jersey quantities, sizes, condition, penny quantities, puck quantities and first aid kit quantities)
- Store all equipment properly during the off-season
- Purchase equipment (subject to Board approval) as required
- Distribute equipment to all levels at beginning of season and track with the rental document
- Obtain quotes for new equipment to review with the Board
- Collect all equipment at end of season, validate the equipment conditions
- Provide a season end inventory report and status on all equipment
- Suggest as needed, any new equipment, gear, needs for future seasons
- Source team uniforms, ensuring high quality, competitive pricing, and appropriate delivery timing
- Coordinate with team managers and coaches proper sizing, players’ names, and numbers
- Track deliveries and oversee distribution of uniforms to team managers, coaches, and/or players
- Assist players in solving any uniform issues
- Work with vendors to set up online spirit wear shop
- Organize pop-up shopping events
RISK MANAGER/SAFESPORT COMMISSIONER: The Risk Manager will oversee the organization's comprehensive insurance and risk management program, assessing and identifying risks that could impede the reputation, safety, security, or financial success of the organization. Risk management is the process by which an Association, League or Team reviews its activities, programs and operating procedures (including buildings and staff) to identify, understand and insure against the everyday risks confronted in operating an organized program.
Also, the SafeSport Coordinator is responsible for monitoring Association and Team compliance with the USA Hockey SafeSport Program and MIDAM Hockey SafeSport Program.
SCHEDULER: Responsible for arranging ice time and game schedules for teams within the Icehounds association. This involves coordinating with other teams, rinks, and league officials to ensure that practices, games, and other on-ice activities are properly scheduled. They also handle administrative tasks related to scheduling, such as managing ice budgets and maintaining the scheduling system.
EQUIPMENT MANAGER: The Equipment Manager is responsible for the maintenance, preservation of all equipment owned by the Icehounds. As an appointed position by the Icehounds Board of Directors, you are a representative of the Icehounds working in the best interest of the entire youth organization on behalf of the association’s board.
Responsibilities:
COMMUNICATION COORDINATOR: The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for sending all communications related to the organization that pertain to key events, general notifications, and future endeavors. Also distribute communications that may be relevant to any changes, notifications, communications from BTHL, MidAm Hockey, and USA Hockey. The Coordinator will need to be familiar with the Crossbar system and have understanding how to send communications to only specific divisions of the organization.
WEBMASTER: He/She shall be responsible for designing, developing, marketing and maintaining the Icehounds web site and electronic communications. The Webmaster shall also implement appropriate security in regard to all electronic mediums sponsored by Icehounds Hockey. Responsible for maintaining the spelling, grammar and continuity of the Icehounds website. Provide other board members with access to the website for updating in case of the web masters absence.
TEAM REPRESENTATIVE COORDINATOR: Create Team Rep job descriptions to hand out to all team members at the beginning of the season. Compile a list of all team reps from the association and coordinate an information meeting in September to explain their responsibilities. Each team rep should receive a copy of the Icehounds Bylaws and any other forms deemed necessary to complete their job. The Team Rep Coordinator shall be the main point of contact for all team representatives.
UNIFORM AND SPIRITWEAR COORDINATOR: Coordinate with vendors to prepare production and manufacturing schedules. Worked with external apparel production teams on projects including team apparel, jerseys, spirit wear and other as needed.
