Howlin' Mite Classic
Join us on January 28-29, 2023 for the second annual half-ice Howlin' Mite Classic, hosted by the Dayton Icehounds. It'll be a howlin' great time!
Basic Info
Three divisions: Red, White, and Blue (depending on registered teams). Games are structured with four players plus a goalie with a maximum of 16 players per team.

Divisions
Red: Also known as a Select division - this will be the highest level of competition. Most teams in this division will be nearing the end of their 8U eligibility.
White: Most teams will fall here. This is for players with some experience, but not yet ready for an ultra-competitive experience.
Blue: This is for FIRST year players, beginner teams.
Stay to Play Requirement
Out of town teams (teams whose home rink is located more than 75 miles away from South Metro Sports) are required to stay at a tournament hotel.
Team managers can use the button above to hold a block of rooms to help ensure your whole team can stay at the same hotel.
Games
Four game guarantee. Divisions are expected to be either 4 or 5 teams. Divisions of 4 teams will play 3 round-robin games followed by a championship or consolation game. Division of 5 teams will play 4 round-robin games with the top two playing for the Championship.
